Why Angus Cattle?
“Look after your cattle, and your cattle will look after you” quoting from a stud principal at his recent stud dispersal, summarises our attitude to the responsibility of animal ownership.
Angus cattle are the leading breed of commercial cattle in Australia, to understand why, visit the Angus Australia website.

Our Herd
Angus had been the favoured commercial breed on the property for many years. The interest to commence breeding stud cattle was a logical extension of a desire to improve the maternal element of the commercial herd.
Initially this interest commenced with the purchase of 4 PTIC heifers from the Old Kentucky dispersal. Further purchases of cows and heifers from the Witherswood and Anvil dispersals followed.
Extensive use of AI technologies and stud heifer retention has resulted in the stud herd now numbering some 50 females.
The breeding objectives are to utilise a diverse maternal genetic base of reliable established female families with selected sires, to produce sound, productive cattle with good temperaments. Focusing on the female side, cows should calve easily, year in year out, rear quality calves, be easy care, all on a moderate frame.
Bulls used will have good growth and carcass EBV’s, particularly EMA and IMF characteristics.

Bull Sales
For the past several years, bulls have been retained for the commercial herd or sold by private treaty. Spring Q drop bulls are sold out. Spring R drop bulls are now for sale.
