Why Sell Direct To Public?

Years ago, I was frustrated that my heavy lambs were discounted in the market, it seemed illogical to me that their genetic potential was not able to be fully expressed.

A stock agent commented that “you can’t change the market”. Then I realised, I didn’t want to change the market, just find the right market for my lambs, the answer – direct sales to consumers.

Several years on, with the necessary elements in the supply chain in place, and tested, lambs (and now Beef too!) are sold. Using market based pricing as a base, to establish a price per kg carcass weight, whole lambs cut and packed are delivered to customers direct.

Our Process

The process begins with the best genetics, animal health programs and nutrition, followed by hand selecting lambs in the optimal weight range to produce the ultimate quality product.

Lambs are taken a short distance to the fully accredited local abattoir for slaughter, and delivered to a local butcher for professional cut and pack. The facilities allow normally at least 10 days hanging, achieving maximum flavour and tenderness.

Specifications have been carefully developed to maximise the utilisation of the large carcass weight (generally 35-45 kg) into premium cuts for consumer satisfaction.
